The Short Dogear set is really designed for replacing pickups guitars with a slanted neck angle, like an Epiphone Casino.

I'm just wanting that as close to old American tone as I can get, -sorry my question rambled on,. They are modeled after that era. I have an Epiphone Casino. I was able to tolerate the humming until I connected my headphones to the amp. That was it. So, I bought a noise suppressor pedal, which did the trick. Then, one day my son borrowed the pedal and I was back to square one. I went back and forth, as to whether I should get the P90s with or without the noise cancellation.
