Where is gangnam in korea

Apgujeong is rather subdued when it comes to nightlife though it has a few posh clubs and bars. Places where valet is unavailable are unlikely to be great hits traditionally.

There are, however, a few small clubs in the area. Expect English to be more commonly spoken in this area, too, due many Koreans in the area having studied abroad or received a lot of private tutoring. This has also meant, however, a certain desensitization to foreigners, so don't expect people to stare or approach you as much as they would in other parts of Seoul.

Consider Apgujeong a great place to hang out, not party. If you want to impress a date for example, this is a great place to go to. The backstreets of Apgujeong tend to sprout and lose new clubs seemingly at random throughout the year, so getting off the main drag from time to time can yield a new "hot club of the month. Also set up in a grid structure, clubs, bars, restaurants and other entertainment venues decorate this upmarket location. While not as upmarket as Apgujeong, it definitely is busy and lively.

If Apgujeong is the place for rich kids to hang out and look cool, Gangnam is the place for those rich kids to party and look sexy. You can also get that feeling of gliding on the water, by booking a boat or yacht ride in the river.

Garosu-gil is literally the best area to find beautiful cafes, with great ambience and even better food. Situated between Sinsa and Apgujeong station, Garosu-gil looks like an indoor mall perfectly set up outdoors. Along with pretty Ginkgo trees and awesome cafes, you can also see a beautiful amalgamation of art galleries and exhibitions and aesthetic-looking retail stores. Along with this, outlets of brands — local as well as global — can be seen hidden behind the trees.

Samneung Park is one of the ancient and ultimate preserves of Korean history; buried in its grounds lie the three important tombs from the Joseon Dynasty, that of King Seongjong 9th king of Joseon era , his wife Queen Jonghyeon and King Jungjong 11th King of Joseon era.

The tombs are preserved with great care and attention, especially after the Japanese invasion of Korea in the year The park is surrounded by dense, calming forest, which is a welcome change in the middle of the urban setting. Samneung Park offers a calming retreat in the middle of the fast-paced world, not to forget an ethereal glimpse in Korean history. Gangnam also happens to be one of the hot spots for some of the popular Korean Entertainment companies.

This means that many of the Korean celebrities will be strutting around the roads and if you are lucky, you might just catch a glimpse of your favorite celebrity around here. Fans are, therefore, seen crowding at the entrances of these companies, which also becomes an entertaining sight in itself. Apgujeong Rodeo Street is one of the trending areas around Gangnam, well-known for its fashion shops, including clothing, shoes and accessories.

The road got its reputation from the early 90s when people there used to trot alongside the street, clad in luxurious clothes and riding in foreign cars. One of the main attractions of this road is the Galleria Department Store; Rodeo Street is actually across the street from this popular store. If you are in search of high quality yet reasonable fashion stores and experience the feel of luxury, then Apgujeong Rodeo Street is where you should head to immediately.

When a young man came out of the building, they piled in and drove away. Most of Korea's richest families own massive lots of property somewhere near Cheongdam Fashion Street. Cheongdam is often featured on Korean TV as a backdrop for wealthy characters. There was even an entire TV show called "Cheongdam Alice," where the main character tries to work her way into its wealthy society. If you're into Korean dramas, you could spend an entire day scouting out shooting locations.

Luka is a high-end restaurant and wedding venue that has been featured on Korean TV. It's situated between a Prada store and Rolls Royce dealership. JYP is the second-biggest K-pop label and is frequently visited by locals and tourists trying to catch a glimpse of a celebrity.

And if you don't recognize the latest K-pop band, the crowd will. I'm not sure who these guys are but the crowd went a bit nuts as they went past and they rushed inside. It's reputed to be a major celebrity hangout, like The Ivy in Los Angeles. Gangnam is also known for its wild nightlife.

While I didn't get to go, Club Octagon is where you'll find K-pop stars partying. Girls Generation, Shinee, and Jay Park have all done showcases there. TimeOut Seoul called Cheongdam "the epitome of everything that is dislikable about the Gangnam area.

Expensive, exclusive and elite; Cheongdam's the meanest of the Mean Girls. You can be sure the fare will be top-notch. High-end brands are sandwiched between global companies and luxury apartments so you don't have to travel far from home for your necessities. One of the things I liked the most about the neighborhood was the parks. Cheongdam Park is just one of many in the area. Cheongdam Park feels like a quiet hideaway from the bustling Gangnam streets.

Walking in and around the park, I could see why the wealthy would want to live there. The recreational areas of Cheongdam Park offer lots of space for sports, hiking, and just taking a nap. These two guys were having a blast playing badminton. High-end hair salons and boutiques from Korean designers are tucked into every alleyway in Cheongdam. The area around Cheongdam Park has a number of gated apartment complexes with beautiful views.

I can't imagine wanting to live on busy Cheongdam Fashion Street, but this area felt secluded. Unlike many of the other complexes that I saw in Apgujeong and Cheongdam, the apartment buildings around Cheongdam Park looked like they had just been built. Cheongdam feels like the kind of place where, if there isn't a viable parking spot for your luxury car, you just make one. Who cares about parking tickets when you are rolling in dough? No really, anywhere. I'm sure the man or woman inside was buying enough stuff to make it worth his while to keep watch.
